Here’s a video of a turntable modded to play tree rings instead of records:
I’m not sure why the artist, Bartholomäus Traubeck, chose this audio interpretation. The idea that “tree music” could sound anything like a stuffy old mechanical piano just seems kind of wrong to me. Then again, I’m not sure what would make a more natural choice.
In any case, it’s the kind of creative programming that makes you say goofy things like “NEAT!”
